Today's Scripture

Chosen

"For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world…"
(Ephesians 1:4, NIV).

God chose you before the foundations of the earth. Before the worlds were ever formed, He knew you. And, He didn't create you to be average. He didn't create you to barely get by. No, He created you to excel! Not only has He chosen you, but He has equipped you with everything you need to live His abundant life. He has deposited seeds of greatness inside every person. But in order to tap into those seeds of greatness, you have to believe this and act on it.

Too many people today are going around with low self-esteem, feeling inferior like they don't have what it takes. They are living a lie. And as long as we have a poor self-image, we're not going to experience God's best. In order to be all that God has called us to be, we have to see ourselves as chosen, valuable and victorious.

Today, meditate on this truth. Let it sink down deep into your heart. Let it build confidence and security in you. As you understand your value, you'll rise up higher and higher into the life of victory He has prepared for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, thank You for choosing me. Thank You for equipping me. Help me to see myself the way You see me. Show me Your ways that I may walk with You in confidence and trust all the days of my life. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Today's Scripture

Make Right Connections

"A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother"
(Proverbs 18:24, NIV).

Do you know how important it is to be connected to the right people? Your destiny is too big to accomplish on your own. But God has already arranged for certain people to speak faith into you. He has already placed in your path people who will inspire you, challenge you and help you accomplish your dreams. But the reason some people never reach their highest potential is because they never get away from the wrong people.

Recognize today that not everyone can go where God is taking you. You've got to connect with people who understand your destiny and can call forth your seeds of greatness. You don't have time to spend on people who are always pushing you down, telling you what you can't do, or never giving you their approval no matter how hard you try. Friend, life is too short to drag people along. If you will get the wrong people out of your life, then God will bring in the right people so you can fulfill the destiny He has in store for you.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father in heaven, thank You for placing the right people in my life. Help me to discern the right connections You have for me. Give me strength to release the wrong relationships so I have room in my life for the people You have chosen to connect with me. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Today's Scripture

Know Your Limitations!

"If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be"
(1 Corinthians 12: 17-18, NIV).

In the New Testament, John was baptizing a crowd of people and drawing a lot of attention. Somebody came up and said, "John, are you the Christ or should we keep looking?" Without missing a beat John said, "No, I am not the Messiah."

See, John knew what he was, but he also knew what he was not. It's just as important to know what you're not because if you don't realize your limitations, you'll get drawn into areas that may look impressive and may feed your ego, but they are outside of your gifting and calling; outside of what God anointed you to do. Anytime you go outside of your limitations, it will be a constant struggle. Don't let that be you! Instead, stay focused on what you're good at. Follow peace in your heart and know your limitations because God has created you just the way He wants you to be!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me. Thank You for choosing me. I ask that You help me to know my limitations. Help me to know my place in the body of Christ so that I can bring glory and honor to You. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Today's Scripture

He Holds Your Destiny!

"The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, and He delights in his way"
(Psalm 37:23, NKJ).

Oftentimes, people who aren't fulfilling their destiny will try to discourage you from fulfilling yours. They may not do it intentionally, but they'll tell you what you can't do and how things won't work out. They're quick to remind you of all your impossibilities. Your relatives, co-workers and friends may try to talk you out of your dream, but that's because God didn't put that promise in them; He put it in you. You have to remember that other people don't determine your destiny; God does. He holds your destiny in the palm of His hand. If you will keep believing, God will not only bring it to pass, but He will do more than you can ask or think.

Friend, don't let someone else's unbelief keep you from believing. Don't let other people talk you out of your dreams. It's time to get into agreement with God. He says you are well able. He says you are equipped. He says you are qualified. He says you are anointed, called and appointed to fulfill every dream and desire He's placed in your heart!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father in heaven, I trust that You are leading and guiding me today. I trust that You hold my future. I choose to tune out the discouraging voices and tune into Your Word. Fill me with Your peace and joy as You direct my steps. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Today's Scripture

The Most Blessed!

"If people can't see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; but when they attend to what He reveals, they are most blessed"
(Proverbs 29:18, The Message).

God wants His people to be the most blessed! He wants His people to constantly increase so they can be examples of His goodness. But, in order to partake of everything He has in store for us, we have to be open to what He wants to do in our lives. We have to have a vision for increase. We have to look for what He is doing and obey what He tells us.

If you're not expecting favor, or if you are just satisfied with where you are, then you are living below your privileges. But if you will get a vision for increase, a vision of who you are as a child of the Most High God and see what He wants to do in your life, then opportunities, favor and increase will open before you. Just like this scripture says, as a child of the Most High, you are entitled to be the most blessed!

I encourage you, today, to take time to focus your thoughts on God and His promises. Meditate on His Word and ask Him to increase your capacity to receive. Then, follow His commands and look for His goodness—and get ready to be the most blessed!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, I choose right now to set my mind and focus on You. I choose to look for what You want to do in and through me. I let go of any wrong thinking, attitudes or actions that would hold me back. I choose to obey You and thank You for Your blessing in my life. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Today's Scripture

Trust Him to Make a Way!

"Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God"
(Psalm 20:7, NIV)

Sometimes, it's easy to get discouraged when things don't go your way. Maybe you aren't getting out of debt as fast as you wanted. Or you're experiencing some challenges in your health or relationships. We have to be careful not to put God in a box by thinking that just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it isn't going to happen. Remember, we serve a supernatural God. When we believe, all things become possible!

The first step is to quit trying to figure everything out. There may not be a way in the natural, but that's okay. God can do what men can't do. Think about the children of Israel. When they left Egypt, there were two million of them. Then, Pharaoh came chasing after them, and when they came to a dead end at the Red Sea, it looked like it was over. They couldn't see a way out. But that didn't mean there wasn't a way. God simply parted the Red Sea and they went through on dry ground.

Remember, if it looks like there is no way in the natural, trust God to make a way. He'll part the waters if He has to! He'll do whatever it takes to lead and guide you in the path of victory that He has prepared for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father God, I trust that with You all things are possible. Today, I take my eyes off my circumstances, and I choose to put my trust and hope in You. I bless You and thank You for Your faithfulness. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Today's Scripture

Set Your Mind Higher

"Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things"
(Colossians 3:2, NIV)

Sometimes when people look toward the future, they don't see how they will ever rise higher or fulfill their destiny. That's because they are looking at things in the earthly, or natural, realm. But if we'll set our minds higher, if we'll set our minds on things above, we will have a different perspective.

The Scripture says in Second Corinthians that we walk by faith and not by sight. In other words, we have to believe it before we're ever going to see it.

When we set our minds higher, we walk by faith. We see things God's way. But when we walk by what we see in the natural realm, we can easily allow circumstances and fear to keep us from moving forward.

Make the decision today to set your mind on things above. Focus on the good things God has in store. Be determined to close the door on fear and doubt and choose to listen to that inner prompting of the Holy Spirit. As you walk and live by faith, you'll see His promises come to pass, and you'll move forward into the destiny He has prepared for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father God, thank You for Your Word which lights the path You have for me. I choose today to keep my heart and mind focused on You. I choose to meditate on Your Word knowing that it feeds my faith and sets me in a position to receive every blessing You have in store for me. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Today's Scripture

Choose This Day

"…choose for yourselves this day whom will you serve…"
(Joshua 24:15, NIV)

Every day, we make thousands of choices. Some choices have more impact on our lives than others. Some require more thought. Some may even require the input of others. Making Jesus the Lord of your life is the best choice you could ever make! However, once you do, you have the opportunity every day to make choices to support that choice. For example, are you choosing to serve the Lord with your attitude? Are you choosing to serve the Lord with your finances? Are you choosing to serve the Lord by what you say? What you watch on TV? What you listen to?

Today I encourage you to examine your thoughts and actions. Choose this day to serve Him in every area of your life. As you submit your ways to Him, He promises to direct your steps. Remember, He has good things in store for your future. He promises to empower you to live the life of victory as you choose Him each and every day.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father God, today I choose You. Search my heart and mind and show me anything in my life that is displeasing to You. Help me to serve You with my whole heart, mind, will, and emotions. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Today's Scripture

Protected by Love

"For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there"
(James 3:16, NKJV)

All throughout scripture, God commands us to love. In fact, 1 Corinthians tells us that love is the greatest thing. Love is all that matters on this earth, and it's all that will last in eternity. But do you realize that we are protected when we walk in love? When we are selfish or self-seeking, the scripture tells us that it opens the door to confusion and every evil work. But when we walk in love, when we choose to put others first, when we choose to be patient and kind and walk in unity, we are protected by love. We close the door to the plans of the enemy in our lives.

Today, check your love walk. Read 1 Corinthians 13 and see if you emulate the characteristics of love. Remember, love is not a feeling; it's a choice. When you choose love, it's like you are covered by a force field of protection that cannot be penetrated.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father God, I humbly come before You today asking that You search my heart. Remove any selfish way in me and help me to always walk in love. Thank You for protecting me through Your promises. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Today's Scripture

Your Appointed Time

"For the vision is yet for an appointed time…though it tarries, wait for it"
(Habakkuk 2:3, KJV))

God has an appointed time to fulfill the visions, dreams, and desires in your heart. Just because it has taken a long time or because you've tried and failed doesn't mean it's not going to happen. Don't give up on those dreams! Don't be complacent about pursuing what God has placed in your heart. Our God is a faithful God. No matter how long it's been, no matter how impossible things look, if you'll stay in faith, your set time is coming.

Remember, every dream that's in your heart, every promise that has taken root, God put it there. Not only that, but He has every intention of bringing it to pass. Hold on to that vision today. Declare by faith, "My time is coming. God is working behind the scenes on my behalf. I will fulfill my destiny!" As you continue to hold on to that vision and speak life over your dreams, it won't be long before you see them begin to take shape. You'll see your faith grow, you'll see your hope strengthen, and you'll see yourself step into the destiny God has prepared for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, I receive Your Word which is life and health to me today. I ask that You ignite my heart with Your holy fire so that I can pursue Your perfect plan for my life. Make my thoughts and words agreeable to Your will. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Today's Scripture

Choose to Trust!

"Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust…"
(Psalm 40:4, NIV)

Is your trust in the Lord today? Trusting in the Lord is a decision we make just like we choose anything else in life. You chose what to wear today, you probably chose what you would have for breakfast, and you can choose to trust God today, too! And just like the decision to receive salvation, when you choose to trust God, there is a peace that settles on the inside of your heart. There are blessings in store for you when you trust Him.

No matter what you are facing in life today, you can have faith that God will come through for you. You can trust that His Word is always true. In Psalm 32, David calls God his "hiding place." In other words, not only can you choose to trust God in the midst of your difficulty; you can actually hide in Him and find rest for your soul. When the circumstances of life seem to be overwhelming, choose to trust that God is ordering your steps. Find security in Him knowing that He's making your crooked places straight and leading you into the everlasting life He has prepared for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, today I choose to put my trust in You. I know You are a good and faithful God, and I trust that You have my best interest at heart. Help me stay focused on Your goodness today. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Today's Scripture

What's Your Part?

"But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent?"
(Romans 10:14-15, NLT)

It's amazing how God can take so many people in the world and set up a plan for us to work together for His purposes to build the body of Christ. We all have a part. One scripture puts it this way, some plant seeds, some water, and some bring in the harvest. No matter what role we have, when we work together, we are honoring God. It pleases Him when we partner with one another to share the good news of the Gospel.

Today, know that you have an important part in the body of Christ. Whether you minister in the pulpit or on the street corner, or whether you sow seed so that others can go, you are important. Don't ever underestimate the part you play because together we are building His kingdom.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father God, I humbly come to You today. Thank You for giving me a part to play in building Your kingdom. I dedicate back to You the resources You have given me. Use me for Your glory. In Jesus' Name. Amen

Today's Scripture

The Report of the Lord

"I have heard a report from the Lord…"
(Jeremiah 49:14, AMP)

Every day we get "reports" from the news, our experiences, our friends and family, and many other sources. We also get reports from the Word of God, which oftentimes, contradicts what everyone else is saying. That’s when we have a choice to make. Do we believe what we hear in the natural, or do we believe the report of the Lord?

We serve a supernatural God! Just because we don’t see a way doesn’t mean that He doesn’t have a way. God can bring one opportunity across your path that will thrust you to new levels. He has explosive blessings that can blast you out of debt and into a place of abundance. What you’re facing today may be impossible with man, but with God all things are possible. Choose today to believe the report of the Lord. Stand strong no matter what is going on around you knowing that He has a plan to lead you into victory in every area of your life!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, I choose to believe Your Word above all else. I know that You are working behind the scenes on my behalf, and You will cause me to triumph. Help me to tune out the negative voices of the world so that I can focus on Your goodness all the days of my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Today's Scripture

Refuse to Worry!

"Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life"
(Matthew 6:27, NIV)

Are you worrying about something today? To worry means to allow something to revolve in your mind over and over again. God doesn't want you to live worried or anxious about anything. He knows that worry steals your peace and joy. It affects every area of your life. Have you heard the saying, "Don't worry yourself sick?" That's because worrying affects your physical body. It affects your sleep. You won't ever gain anything by worrying; in fact, you'll lose precious moments that you can never get back again. The good news is that God has promised that you can have victory over worry. It starts by making the choice to trust in Him. When you cast your cares on Him, He will give you His peace.

Decide today to put an end to worry in your life. Choose to feed your faith and fill your mind with God's promises. As you focus on God's Word, you'll drive out worry and fill your heart with faith and expectancy; and you'll be empowered to move forward into the life of blessing He has in store for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, today I choose to put an end to worry in my life. I choose to feed my faith by studying Your promises and declaring Your Word over my life. Help me to totally trust in You today and every day. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Today's Scripture

Increase More!

"There are those who [generously] scatter abroad, and yet increase more; there are those who withhold more than is fitting or what is justly due, but it results only in want"
(Proverbs 11:24, AMP)

In the book of Genesis, God set up a system of seedtime and harvest. Everything God does starts with a seed. The Bible also tells us that He gives seed to the sower. In other words, if you are a person who has a desire to bless others and sow seed, God will make sure you have plenty to give. Notice in today's verse what happens when we generously sow seed—we increase more! Just like planting a seed in the natural brings an abundant harvest, planting a spiritual seed brings an abundant harvest as well. You can't out give God. The scripture says that He will pour out blessings on you that you can barely contain.

God's blessings go way beyond the financial realm. He wants you to have blessed relationships, good health, and a happy career. Why don't you take a step of faith today and look for ways to start sowing. What do you have in your hand? Can you start by giving a smile and sowing joy? Do you have five dollars to help someone else at the gas pump? Choose to be blessing and watch how God brings increase in every area of your life.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father God, today I choose to be a sower and a giver. Help me to see the people around me the way You see them so that I can bless them the way You want to bless them. Thank You for Your faithfulness in my life as I stay obedient to Your Word. In Jesus' Name. Amen

Today's Scripture

This One Thing.......

"…I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead"
(Philippians 3:13, NLT)

Are you determined to forget the past? I know many people don't fully understand what that means. They wonder, "How can I forget something that's happened to me?" But one definition of the word forget is to disregard intentionally or to overlook. In other words, you have to choose to disregard your past so that it doesn't keep you from moving forward. That means the good and the bad. Sometimes our past victories keep us from rising higher as much as past failures. If we don't let go of the old, we'll never be able to embrace the new.

It doesn't matter what's happened in your history, it's time to forget what lies behind. Make the choice today to look forward. Trust that God has a better future in store for you. Trust that He's working behind the scenes on your behalf. As you forget what lies behind and press forward, you will see the abundant life the Lord has in store for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, I choose to forget the past today. I don't want anything to hold me back from the good future You have prepared for me. I choose forgiveness and ask that You help me, by Your Spirit, to press forward in every area of my life. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Today's Scripture

He's Working in You!

"…He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus"
(Philippians 1:6, NIV)

Sometimes when God is doing a work in our lives, things can get a little uncomfortable. We may encounter people who are hard to get along with or have circumstances that seem beyond our control. When this happens, instead of complaining, getting sour, or trying to change everything around you, why don't you look deep inside and say, "Lord, thank You for doing a work in me." See, I've learned that God is more interested in changing me than He is in changing my circumstances. If I choose to stay sour because I'm not getting my way or discouraged because things aren't happening on my time table, that's going to keep me right where I am.

If you want to see change, if you want to see God open up new doors, the key is to bloom right where you're planted. You can't wait until everything gets better before you decide to have a good attitude. You have to be the best that you can be right where you are. When you bloom where you're planted, you're allowing God to work in you, and He will be faithful to complete what He's started in you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father God, thank You for doing a work in me. I choose to align myself with Your plan by blooming where I'm planted. Help me, by Your Spirit, to be an example of Your love and life everywhere I go. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Today's Scripture

Faith

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen"
(Hebrews 11:1, KJV))

Are you hungry for more of God's favor in your life today? Did you know your faith opens the door to His favor?
The scripture tells us that faith pleases God. It gives substance to the things we hope for and makes them tangible. We've all been given a measure of faith, but it's up to each of us to put it into action. Notice today's verse starts by saying, "Now faith." It's not "later" faith or "one day" faith. We have to have faith for today, right now.
Do you believe that God has blessings in store for you, right now? Do you believe He wants to pour out His favor upon you, today? When you activate your faith by declaring His promises, you open the door to His abundant favor in every area of your life.
We are calling this week the "Five Days of Favor." I encourage you to join with me in pressing forward into new levels of favor, faith and victory. I can think of no better way to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord than to feed our faith and commit to reaching new levels in Him!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father God, thank You for the gift of faith. I choose to believe Your Word which is a lamp unto my feet and a light to my path. Show me how to continue to grow in faith so I can be pleasing to You in every area of my life. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Today's Scripture

What Defines Your Future?

"You will also declare a thing, and it shall be established…"(Job 22:28, NKJ)
In the Old Testament there was an Israelite woman who was about to give birth. She had just heard that the Ark of the Covenant that housed God's presence had been stolen. She was so upset about it that she named her baby boy Ichabod, which means "the glory has departed." Notice what she did; she named her future by what was happening in her present. She could have just as easily named him "the glory will return," but she was so focused on the negative, so caught up in where she was at that moment that she defined her future by it.
Friend, don't ever name your future by your present day circumstances. You may have had some hard times in the past, but get that "Ichabod" spirit off of you. It may look like you're stuck in a rut and you don't really see how you could ever rise any higher, but don't speak defeat over your life. Instead, name your future: blessed, prosperous, successful, victorious, healthy, whole, strong, talented, creative, wise. Declare what God's Word says so that you can move forward in the destiny He has prepared for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, thank You for the good future that You have prepared for me. Today I choose to come into agreement with Your Word and declare Your blessing over my life. Keep me close to You as I surrender every area of my life to You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
