Hair Update!

Hello ladies! Here are some pics of my progress during my affair of hair.
1st pic - August 10th, 2009
All other pics - December 9th, 2009
I saw my fabulous stylist, Marie Simone of Shi Salon, and she gave me my quarterly snip. I know some naturals don't believe in trimming the ends on a regular basis, but I have a routine where I get mine trimmed every four months. I do this to ward off split ends and to see how my hair is doing. I can only tell how my hair is doing when it is straightened and since I cannot do this myself(and I will never try), I have to visit the salon. I had about an inch cut off because I am trying to remove all relaxer off my ends. My hair has grown so much since my last visit(August 2009). I was surprised to see the growth and I am glad to know I did not have any breakage.
I will give another update in April.
Happy Growing!

Today's Scripture

Payday Is On Its Way

"So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you!"(Hebrews 10:35, NLT)
What are you believing God for today? Promotion? Healing? Stronger relationships? Freedom from addiction? God has promised all these things to you in His Word. He wants you to live in blessing and wholeness all the days of your life. But in order to experience His promises, we have to do our part. We have to keep believing and trusting in Him. That's what today's verse is saying: if we will stay in faith, if we will keep believing, keep hoping, keep doing the right thing, God promises there will be a reward. I like how one translation puts it, "Don't get discouraged. Payday is coming!"
When you're tempted to get down, when things aren't going your way just say to yourself, "This may be hard. It may be taking a long time. But I know God is a faithful God. I'm going to keep believing because my reward is coming." Friend, as you trust Him and stand in faith, as you boldly declare His promises, you are positioning yourself to receive His blessing. No matter what your circumstances look like, remember payday is on its way—and you will experience the blessing He's promised all the days of your life!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

"Father in heaven, thank You for Your good and precious promises. I choose to trust that my reward is coming. I choose to follow Your commands because they lead to blessing and life. Give me a heart that is fixed on You and fill me with Your peace. I patiently wait on You. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

True Love - So Beautiful!

With all the craziness going on with Tiger Woods and Shaquille O'Neal's marital woes, it is refreshing to see the President and his "First" Lady have it going on.
This is a beautiful Christmas photo.
What is your idea of true love?
I'll go first.........
True love for me means never needing to explain yourself. For me, it means having a friend and a lover. It means loving unconditionally.
Now it's your turn..........

Glam Holiday Hair!

If you don't already know by now, I love putting my hair up for a night on the town. I also love adding hair accessories to complete the look. For me, there are many benefits to this. For one, no matter what weather you are having or what the level of humidity is inside the event, your hair will never fail. Secondly, it looks so glamorous when a woman has her hair up in a regal style, with some type of bling in her hair, showing off her beautiful neckline. Also, having your hair up eliminates your hairstyle competing with your outfit (an updo goes with everything).

And lastly, an updo w/accessories looks great even when your hair is not totally "done"!

Below are a few ideas I grabbed from Essence Magazine. They are a great way to glam up your hair for the holiday without breaking the bank. Many of the accessories or similar styles are available at Forever21. The headband is definitely available at Forever21.

Today's Scripture

Walk by Faith

"For we walk by faith, not by sight"(II Corinthians 5:7, NKJV)
Are you walking by faith or sight today? In other words, are you choosing to believe God no matter what your circumstances look like, or are you making decisions and focusing your mind on what you can see.
As believers, we have to remember that we aren't just subject to this natural realm–what we can see, hear, touch, and smell. No, we have access to the unseen, supernatural realm where all the promises and blessings of God are stored. When you choose to walk by faith, you are opening a door from the natural realm to the supernatural realm and drawing the blessings of God into your life.
Remember: with God seeing isn't believing; believing is seeing! Throughout the day, begin to declare, "Father, I want to thank You that my payday is coming. You said no good thing will You withhold because I walk uprightly. I believe even right now You're arranging things in my favor." As you walk and live by faith, you will live a life pleasing to God. You'll see His blessing and favor in abundance, and you'll fulfill the destiny He has in store for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

"Heavenly Father, today I choose to walk by faith. I choose to believe Your Word no matter what things look like in the natural. I know You are working behind the scenes, and You will open up doors of blessing and favor in every area of my life. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

Product Review - Redken Extreme Rescue Force Protein Treatment

Are you looking for a great protein treatment to strengthen your hair?

Well Redken has it!

It contains Proteins for strengthening - Ceramide for cuticle reinforcement & Natural Lipids which provide a protective coating for your hair. Great for all hair types and smells good too.

It's a little pricey - about $14, but it works wonders. I've been using it for about a month and I have noticed a difference. (I always use the more expensive stuff for a while before making a review on it. I don't want anyone wasting money)

Now remember, everyone's hair is different, but my hair likes it. I am a cross between 3b-3c & 4.

If you would like to know your hair type, go to
http://www.naturallycurly.com/hair-types to find out.

Happy Hair!

Today's Scripture

Pray For an Open Door

"And at the same time pray for us also, that God may open a door to us…"(Colossians 4:3, AMP)
In this life, we are blessed with so many opportunities and privileges. In this day and age, we have tools and resources to figure almost anything out. It's easy to just depend on our own natural ability to make things happen. But God wants to be intimately involved in our lives. He wants us to come to Him, depend on Him, and allow Him to show Himself strong on our behalf. He wants to open those doors for you, and He wants you to know that He is the one working behind the scenes on your behalf.
Today, if you are looking for an open door, turn to God. Pray and ask Him to direct your every step. Keep asking, keep knocking, keep believing because God will open those doors before you. He will lead you and guide you into the abundant life He has in store for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

"Father God, thank You for ordering and directing my steps. Today I come to You asking for an open door. I know that You will make a way even when there seems to be no way. I choose to trust You with every detail of my life! In Jesus' Name. Amen."

Product Review - Skechers Shape Ups

OK ladies! If you are anything like me, you are usually leary of claims that this or that will help tone your legs. Well, I can tell you the claims these shoes make are true. I own a pair of MBT shoes which are a more expensive brand of the same shoe. I purchased them five years ago at the suggestion of my physical therapist after I injured my knee bike riding. I tore some cartilage after riding for 30 miles after I walked in a Prostate Cancer walk which was 5 miles. (I had lost my mind that day) Well, the MBT shoe worked wonders. My knee felt great after I wore them for about two weeks straight and now I wear them when I feel a twinge in my knee and I am usually all better after a few days. They also work the heck out of my butt and legs. I think it is because they are so heavy, but the claim is that the way they are engineered make you walk upright, therefore forcing you to use your lower body more to sustain you.
This new shoe by Skechers makes all of the same claims, but they are $125 cheaper.
MBT brands are still available, but the Skecher brand feel great and they work your butt and legs too. I needed a new pair and decided to try these. I don't know if anyone was planning on trying them, but I can tell you they are worth it. Your back, butt, and legs will thank you.
Try wearing them shopping and you will get a workout in while getting your shop on too!
They look really cute on your feet too!
Happy Toning!

Today's Scripture

Continue in the Faith!

"If indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard…"(Colossians 1:23, NAS)
Have you been holding on to a promise or dream in your heart that seems to be taking a long time? When things don't go the way we've planned, it's easy to get discouraged and feel tempted to give up. But God wants to breathe new life into your dreams. He wants to breathe new hope into your heart. But you've got to do your part and shake off any negative, self-defeating thoughts. Instead of saying things like, "I'm never going to get there;" "I'm never going to break this addiction;" "I'm never going to get out of this problem;" your declaration should be, "I am closer than I think;" "I know I can do all things;" "I can overcome this sickness;" "I'm going to continue in the faith!"
I encourage you to get up each day knowing that this could be the day you get the break you need. This could be the day you see your health start to turn around. This could be the day your child comes back home. Don't give up now because God is about to open supernatural doors for you. Continue in the faith; keep your heart and mind focused on Him, and watch what He will do on your behalf!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

"Heavenly Father, today I release all the cares and burdens that are trying to drag me down. I know that You have a good plan for my life. I will continue in the faith and ask that You breathe Your new life throughout my whole being today. In Jesus' Name. Amen"

Healthy Living - Hormone Free Meat

Ladies, this one will be brief but to the point!

How many of you have had or know someone who has had issues with fibroids? I'm sure all of you have a story or two. Well, this is caused from eating foods, especially chicken and beef, that has been processed with the use of hormones and steroids. Women already have hormones and if you have an overage of hormones, it forms inside your bodies as fibrotic cysts. If left untreated, these cysts can become cancerous.
So ladies, I know it is more expensive, but if you can, buy organic meat. Look at the labels and make sure no hormones or steroids were used. To make sure and play it safe, but your meat from a natural food store.

We buy natural products for our hair, so we should use the same frame of mind when it comes to our bodies!

Happy Healthy Living!

Hello!

My old hair up do style

After the rollers have been removed

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving holiday!
I ate my butt off and paid for it later, (tummy ache) but it was well worth it!

Well, here is another hair update. As you know this is my go to hairstyle and it works great for me as a protective style. It usually lasts about 4 days, then I put it up in a bun in the back and slide on a headband for another 3 to 4 days.

My hair seems to turn out the same way no matter what products I use. Maybe this is a good thing, but I really need to see my stylist to get my ends trimmed and to see length. Wearing my hair this way makes my hair look shorter than it is and when it gets old (after a week) it really gets big. I want big hair from the start, but I guess that will come in time.

For this style I used the small, yellow, magnetic rollers and I only used Herbal Essence Hello Hydration for my cowash and as a setting lotion. I also applied shea butter to the ends before rolling. (It is very important to add some type of moisturizer to the ends before rolling your hair)

I just air dried it overnight, fluffed out with my fingers and off I went to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday.

Happy Hair!

Product Review - HPO Twisty Locs & Shampoo

Well ladies, I have stumbled upon another great find! It is HPO's Twisty Locs Moisturizing Creme and Hair & Body Shampoo. I recently purchased both at the Shecky's Ladies Night Out Event from the lovely Deborah Smalls of New York, New York Salon here in St. Louis. She is a HPO rep and she specializes in natural hair care. I've had the jar for a little over a month but I had never used it. Well, my hair was extra dry the other day so I decided to use both products. OMG - my hair loved it. The shampoo is sulfate free and contains honey, avocado, coconut oil, vitamin A&E, and wheat protein. After shampooing with this concoction, my curls were definitely in the house. My hair felt soft afterwards, even before I applied conditioner.
The Twisty Locs butter is a heaven scent! It is a little waxy at first, but once you emulsify it in your hands and apply it to your hair, it is a lovely thing. It has the same consistency as natural shea butter and it is great for sealing your ends or using as an all over moisturizer. My hair shined all day and held the moisture much better than before. It left my hair very soft without the buildup. It also helps your hair stay frizz free and it brings the curls like no ones business. Twisty Locs contains shea butter, jojoba oil, honey, and vitamin A&E. It smells divine and very clean - sort of like lemons.
Make sure to use only a little at a time because a little goes a long way. Also, make sure to melt it in your hands completely or you will have a white film in your hair.
It is available at Whole Foods for about $11 each.
To learn more about it you an visit their website at http://hpospatreatments.com/products/twisty_locs.php

Today's Scripture

Living the Abundant Life

"The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)"(John 10:10, AMP)
Too many people today have a barely-get-by mentality, "Barely able to pay my bills, got an okay job, an okay marriage." Friend, don’t settle there. Jesus came so we could live an abundant life! That means an abundance of joy, an abundance of peace, an abundance of health, an abundance in our finances.
God’s dream is that you not only be blessed, but that you are so blessed that you can be blessing everywhere you go. He wants you to live an abundant life so that it overflows on to the people around you. We should have so much peace, so much joy, so much victory that when other people get around us, they begin to feel it. It affects them.
You may not be seeing it right now, but don’t get complacent and just settle where you are. Begin to declare by faith today, "Jesus came to give me abundant life." "My needs are supplied in abundance so that I can be a blessing to others." As you stay in faith, you’ll see your circumstances begin to turn around. You’ll see God move on your behalf, and you’ll experience the abundant life He has prepared for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

"Heavenly Father, today I release all the cares and burdens that are trying to drag me down. I know that You have a good plan for my life. I will continue in the faith and ask that You breathe Your new life throughout my whole being today. In Jesus' Name. Amen"

Today's Scripture

Offer Praise Continually

"Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to his name"(Hebrews 13:15, NLT)
Praise is a powerful weapon. Many times in the Old Testament when God's people would go into battle, they would send the worshipers out first. That's because praise precedes the victory. When you live a life that offers Him continual praise, you are setting yourself up to see continual victory.
Praise is more than just singing songs in church on Sunday. In fact, praise isn't even about singing songs. Praise is a heart attitude. Praise in your heart will prompt singing, but it can also manifest in many different ways. You can give Him praise in your words, your actions, and the way you live your daily life. Every time you obey His Word, when you continually follow His commands–even when it's uncomfortable, even when we don't feel like it, even when we are tired – that's offering a sacrifice of praise to Him.
As you go throughout your day, take time to acknowledge Him. Remember to put Him first and continually offer Him praise. As your praise goes up, His blessings come down. His peace comes down. His joy, His strength, and His victory will overtake every area of your life!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

"Father in heaven, today I choose to offer You continual praise. I choose to follow Your Word so that You may be glorified through me. Let everything within me honor and glorify You. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

Healthy Living!

I want to make sure I cover all of the basis for my readers to keep you coming back for more. We always talk about hair, makeup, and fashion, but none of that is any good if the body is not properly taken care of. We have to keep the canvas clean!
With that in mind, I have decided to post weekly healthy living ideas that any diva can use.

My very first one will be now:

Green Tea!

I know you have heard over and over how green tea is good for you, but there are some truths to this phenomena, believe me.
I drink green tea daily, especially in the winter months. I read where drinking hot water helps kill the virus that causes H1N1. If you drink hot water w/green tea, you get two benefits at one time. Antioxidants such as polyphenols in green tea can neutralize free radicals and may reduce or even help prevent some of the damage they cause. You can go to http://www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/green-tea-000255.htm to read the long list of benefits from drinking green tea. It is also said to fight the agents that cause numerous types of cancers.

As with anything, there are always side effects. Even though they are slight, you should still educate yourself before trying out this tea. You can find them listed at http://www.amazing-green-tea.com/green-tea-side-effects.html

I have been drinking it for years and at 41 years of age, I rarely have a cold(I have not had one in over a year), my allergies are very slight compared to before I started drinking green tea, and my weight stays pretty even(considering I can't get to the gym three times a week due to school).

My favorites are Tazo Green Tea The Vert and Bigelow Green Tea brands. I only sweeten mine with Sugar in the Raw Natural Cane Sugar (1 tablespoon) but you can add more to your liking.

Try it and tell me what you think!

Happy Health!

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

Visits from God!

"…And God has visited His people [in order to help and care for and provide for them]!"(Luke 7:16, AMP)

Every person has times of visitation from the Lord. These are the times when God distinctly intervenes in our lives to bring us help, direction, care, and provision. He's ordained special times to pour out His love, favor, and blessing. It may be through a person we meet, an unexpected promotion, or supernatural favor so that in a split second we are thrust years ahead. These marked moments in our lives keep us on the course of our destiny.
When you really understand this point, you don't have to be frustrated because things aren't happening as fast as you'd like. You don't have to worry about how things will turn out. All you have to do is stay in faith, knowing that God is directing your steps. As long as we keep believing, our marked moments are on their way. Don't allow the enemy to steal your joy or distract you by getting you focused in the wrong direction. Remember, God is on your side, and He is leading you and guiding you in the path of victory in every area of your life!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

"Heavenly Father, thank You for Your divine favor and direction on my life. I choose to release my cares today and trust wholeheartedly in You. Teach me to recognize those marked moments so that I can give all the glory and praise to You! In Jesus' Name. Amen."

Question!

This question is to my natural hair readers.

How often do you co wash, shampoo, whatever your routine a week? I am finding that I am really lazy when it comes to this. I am a full time student and a full time employee and I have a life, so the last thing on my schedule sometimes is my hair(next to laundry).

Since I have the pin-up, I find myself only co washing once every seven days, but I read where people do their hair every three to four days. Please let me know what works best for you because I am noticing more shedding since I am waiting and I wonder if this is good. I know not combing through your hair for seven days will result in shedding, but I just want to hear what you all think.

Thanks for any feedback.

Much Love!

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

Get Your Fire Back!

"For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you…"(II Timothy 1:6, NIV)

I believe that God has planted seeds of greatness on the inside of every one of us. We all have dreams and desires, things we want to accomplish; things we want to see changed. But so many times, life has a way of stealing our dreams. We go through disappointments, face adversity, things don't turn out as we would like. Too often, we just end up settling for second best. But God doesn't want us to settle for second best. He wants us to be determined, press on, and pursue the greatness that's on the inside. We should never let "good enough" be good enough!
I want to encourage you today to stir yourself up and get your fire back. Start speaking victory over your future. If one dream has died, dream another dream. Put yourself in a positive, faith-filled environment. Get around people of excellence who live passionately. Fan the flame that is in you so you can move forward into all God has in store for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

"Father in heaven, I come to You today giving You my disappointments, setbacks, hurts, and broken dreams. I ask that You restore my passion and vision for the future. Let Your flame burn brightly in me now and forevermore. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

My Wish List - Christian Louboutin!

I have a sick shoe fetish, but I am particular about how much I will spend on one pair.

But there is something so sexy and boardroom diva(ish) about these shoes! I am usually not a "glitter" shoe girl, but even these would look good with a pair of jeans and a cute sweater or you could pair them with a pair of leggings and a dark sweater dress for the holidays. Just make sure not to sexy them up too much or you will look like something you don't want to look like if you know what I mean.

As for the print shoes below, well the look says it all! What a great way to add flavor to a neutral ensemble. I love wearing all one color and adding pop at my feet with a burst of color or print.

Now if only Mr. Louboutin were in my price range................... Oh well, a girl can dream!

Oh and by the way, the shoes I have on in the previous pic are Carlos Santana. His shoes are great and very reasonable. They are also very comfortable which is great for a girl like me who loves stilettos!

Jazzy feet are always in fashion!

Happy Fashion!

Hair Update!

Well ladies, I did another nice "chop" of hair to rid myself of those straight, relaxed ends. Here are some pics of a twist out that for some reason looks like a roller set. Oh well, I rocked it for 4 days, then I went to my trusted pin-up for 3 more days. The picture of me and the girls is an example of my pin-up. It's blurry because it was taken with a friend's Sprint phone. SORRY!

My pal LaCasey and I at the office on jean Friday!

I barely untwisted the back because I liked the curl pattern (all natural)

HAPPY HAIR!

Today's Scripture

Take Hold of the Dream

"…despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us."(Romans 8:37, NLT)

Many people struggle with letting go of past hurts and failures. They get caught up in how unfair their situation is. And the whole time, their dreams are lying dormant and unfulfilled. It's time to realize that in order for a new door to open, you must let old ones close behind you. Maybe you got off to a rough start in life. You may have had more than your share of setbacks. Let me encourage you. It's not how you start but how you finish that counts.
It may seem like your dreams have died, but God can bring them back to life. Your future is not determined by your past. But holding on to the past will keep you from moving forward. God has already given you the victory. He wants you to take hold of the dreams He's given you. He will see to it that they come to pass as you obey Him and give Him your whole heart.
You can go beyond where you are today. Your best days are not behind you, they are in front of you. Shake off past discouragements, and take a step toward your dreams. Choose today to stop looking back, and fix your eyes forward on the new beginning God has for you.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

"Father in Heaven, today I choose to let go of the things of my past. I realize that despite circumstances, I have the victory through Christ. I ask you to show me any dreams that are lying dormant, and bring them back to life in new ways. In Jesus' Name. Amen"

PRODUCT REVIEW - MISS JESSIE'S QUICK CURLS

O.k, you all know I am in the beginning of my natural hair journey (2 years), so I am still experimenting with what products work best for my hair. Well, I tried Miss Jessie's Quick Curls to see if it would cut down the time it takes me to rod or twist my hair. I tried the product and simply used a diffuser to dry my hair. The curls were there, but they were hard(thanks for the heads up Curvy Gurl) and very loose. Also, my hair seemed to be very stiff and weird looking on the ends(thanks to the relaxer that is still on some strands).

Needless to say, I think I will try this product at a later date after I have cut all of the relaxer off my ends. The entire top and back of my head is 100% relaxer free(yeah) and the curls were very nice in those areas. The problem is I relaxed my front because I was wearing a sew-in weave and my ends are still evidence of that. One more inch cut off and I will be free, but until then I will have to rod/roll the front.

Anyhoo, I feel this will be a great product for a curly fro, but you will definitely need some type of moisturizing cream to use along with it for softness.

Pros - Smells nice, very lightweight, great hold

Cons - Holds too well (made my hair hard)

HAPPY HAIR!

Today's Scripture

Focus on the Dream

"If God is for us, who can ever be against us? "(Romans 8:31, NLT)
What are you focusing on today? Are you focusing on your difficult situation, or on God's promises? You may have all kinds of problems coming at you. Maybe you're feeling discouraged as new problems and challenges have popped up in your life. Don't let it get you down. Don't let it take your focus off of God. He is working on your behalf in the supernatural, even when you can't see it. Keep your trust and your focus on His promises, not on your problems.
It's important that you keep your heart in an attitude of faith. Believe that God is for you. Believe His plans for you have not changed despite new problems or troubling circumstances. The more you focus on what God's doing, the more your faith will grow.
If it feels like you're facing impossible challenges, don't be afraid. God is on your side–nothing is impossible for Him. Stay focused on what God can do in your life. Remember, He's always in control. God knows the end from the beginning and He allows challenges in your life to cause you to trust Him more. As you put your faith in Him, you'll grow closer to God and you'll see your dreams come true!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

"Father in Heaven, thank You for being with me. I choose today to focus on You and not on my situation. And I refuse to allow the enemy's attacks to come against my dreams. I will continue to walk by faith, not by sight knowing You are with me every step of the way. In Jesus' Name. Amen"

FOR MY NATURAL CROWNED SISTAS.......

I know it seems like I have been slacking on blogging about my natural hair journey. Well I have not forgotten why I started this blog, it's just that my hair is maintaining and I have found a simple regimen (twist outs & updo w/headband) and there has not been anything new for me to talk about. Well, all of that will change! I have been really busy lately with work and school (both full-time) and my hair has been kept simple. Next week, I will be trying out some new products and some new hairstyle techniques. I will be sure to share with everyone. I have had time to post about fashion because it is the time of year when fashion is on my mind (change of seasons). I promise to keep a well-balanced mix on my site for everyone.

I also want to thank all of you who visit and comment on my site.

Thank you so much for the love and inspiration! I want to send a special "love & thanks" to Carla, Chocolate Chic, Curly Nikki, Curvy Gurl, Deanna Jackson, Dymeshia(Trendy Teez) and Tammstyles for the great support.

Keep the fabulous posts coming! With sites like yours, there is no need for magazine subscriptions!

To Him Be The Glory!

I know I post a scripture every Monday, but I felt the desire to post this simple word of praise to my father! God is good all of the time and I just had to say that!

I have learned in my 41 years of living that the only way to have total peace is to know God. For years I thought I had all of the answers, but was I wrong!

I just want to share this thought with everyone.......

Whenever there is a need that is in your heart, if it is for you, he will deliver. You will not know how things worked out, but when you look back on the matter, you are in awe that it worked itself out. We did not work it out, he did! For this reason, I have learned to stop worrying about things and put them in God's hands. It's that easy! Now don't get me wrong, we do have to commit to being strong and faithful, get off our butts and apply ourselves, and we also have to move on faith and trust he is leading us in the right direction.

Once we realize that everything is for us if God feels it is for us, then we will be much more calm and peaceful within our daily lives. Always put him first and seek wisdom from his word and everything else will fall into place. Now I am not saying it will always be peaches and cream, but remember, if the struggle is hard it will make you a stronger person when he blesses you with what he brought you through. I am a firm believer of that principal!

My eyes are filled with tears of joy when I think of where he brought me from and how he spared me so many times in my younger, wilder days(yes, I had a few of those).

My site would not be right if I did not devote time to glorify his name and his awesomeness.

He is fashion and hair - he is everything!

Thank you for listening! :)

FALL FASHION CHECKLIST - TRENCH COATS

Trench Coats are fashionable wardrobes additions that help get you through the transition of fall to winter.

You know that time of the year, when it is not cold enough for a coat but cool enough for a coverup and you can't find the right piece.

You can pair them with jeans, a dress or suit for a stylish, yet pulled together ensemble.

The fun thing about them this year is they come in an array of styles, fabrics, and colors so if the classic "tan" trench is not for you, you have a multitude of choices.

HAPPY FASHION!

Today's Scripture

Live Skillfully

"Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will serve before kings…"(Proverbs 22:29, NIV)
Too often, it's easy to get stuck in a rut, doing the same thing the same way over and over every day. But if we are going to live at our absolute best, we should constantly be growing and sharpening our skills. We should strive to learn and grow every single day because when you stop learning, you stop growing. When you stop growing, you stop living.
What are you doing to stretch yourself? What are you doing to improve your skills? Don't get trapped into thinking that "good enough" is good enough. You are created for more than just average. Today is a new day, and there are new heights for you to climb. Pursue what you love and keep developing that area of your life. Take a class or find a mentor that will help you live skillfully. As you do, you'll rise up higher and higher. You will stand before leaders and rulers, and you'll live the blessed life God has in store for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

"Father in heaven, today I choose to rise out of mediocrity. I choose to give my very best to everything I do. Teach me to live skillfully so that my life is a continual praise to you. In Jesus' Name. Amen."
